     Inside and Outside the classroom.

My role is to mentor parents, teachers and schools with a balanced and individualized approach.  My life’s work is based upon discovering what works best for children, parents, teachers and communities of practice while capitalizing on inherent strengths. Do not hesitate to contact me if we can work together to meet your training, mentoring, inclusion or developmental screening needs.  As a reflective parenting/teaching coach,  I support clients locally, nationally, and even internationally on an as needed basis.  My focus, when mentoring, is  to assist parents/teachers as they discover the inherent expertise about their own children and/or the children they work with.

Contact
Looking to be more thoughtful in your parenting or teaching?
I can meet, reflect and share resources with you.  My goal with parents is to reduce the anxiety around parenting and help you connect with the down to earth parent (or teacher) in you.  I can easily work by phone to consult on parenting topics and/or will make referrals if more specialized support is required.

Concerned about your child’s development?
I can meet with you, support your completion of a developmental screening and make recommendations for referral and/or developmentally appropriate caregiving.

Need an advocate to navigate early intervention or individualized education plan systems?
I can attend meetings, support your knowledge of both your child and the system to help you pursue the right services for your child or family’s unique needs.  I have experience coordinating and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and prepping parents for meetings with teachers, pediatricians or therapists.

Social Group Play
I am passionate about the role social interaction plays in a child’s development.  Whether it’s interactions between children, between parent and child,  or between teacher and children, I can support your child to discover the delight of joint attention, and connection with others.  I will work with your therapists to coordinate a play program unique for your child while capitalizing on play time with well planned activities of specific interest to your child.

Directors can’t do it all, need support?
I can work individually or in conjunction with a management team to improve quality of interactions, support developmentally appropriate practice, and/or consult on management issues.

Need Board, Staff or Parent training to meet specific needs?
I have experience designing retreats, speaking on a variety of topics and supporting community building in a wide range of school environments.  My approach to training includes humor, story-telling, reflective thinking exercises and didactic knowledge based on cutting edge 0-5 brain research. Trainings can easily be designed to meet your school or agency’s most current needs.

Parent Groups or Book Groups
I enjoy facilitating lifelong learning for parents and teachers.  I am happy to join your group once for a specific topic or in a more ongoing way to facilitate discussion and provide resources.  Your group can choose the book and topic or I can supply a list of my own favorites.
